Overview

FABRIC TYPE:

Natural composition artist canvas ready for hand painting or paper.

SYSTEM:

A combination of new and old wooden battens whilst using staples instead of tacks in order to cause less damage to the original timber.

When working in buildings of historical importance it is especially important to pay attention to the materials used to help with the preservation of the buildings future.
Any old timber battening that remains will be tested for strength to ensure its ability to handle the high pressure of stretching any new canvas or fabric.
If the batten is loose but in good condition it can be removed cleaned down and reattached ready for another 100 years of service.
